CHERISH is a student initiated passion project that aims to raise awareness about the unaddressed societal issues faced by essential workers and to promote empathy and understanding among the general public. By sharing their stories and experiences, we believe that we can help combat existing stereotypes and prejudices, and inspire people to treat these workers with the respect and dignity they deserve.
We are passionate about this project because...

The founding of this project was definitely something I've been dreaming of doing for a long time. The idea first came to me during my time at the National Museum of Singapore. The Chinese ink paintings and acrylic treasures prompted me to carry out independent research in the field of Singapore's history and what makes it the unique and successful city it is today. I learned that our home was shaped by none other than the people that laid bricks, sweeped floors and traded uncostly goods to make a living. I am enamored by the people that carry out essential work to make Singapore just that bit better to live in, and I believe that they have always deserved to be cherished and loved by the citizens.
